Hi folks,
Easter over – time to get back to classes.
Below is the new schedule the Monday classes. The Wednesday night schedule remains the same and will be back on April 21st.
Monday evenings at 28 York Place with Lloyd and Carol Ann salsa classes commencing 12th April 2010:
On Monday evenings the Improvers level has become very busy and the Intermediate a lot quieter than before. To spread the load and bring folk on we have therefore changed the schedule.
At its most basic the schedule can be looked at as:
6:45 – 7:45 Improvers Level 1
7:45 – 8:15 practice session
8:15 – 9:15 Improvers Level 2 (Imp/Int)
8:45- 9:45 Intermediate
Okay that is the simple version as I know some of you find this confusing. In reality it’s a bit more complicated if you want to challenge yourself and prepare for future levels. We want to encourage everyone to do 90 minutes, which means that including the practice session you will be at class for 2 hours. This means either staying later or arriving earlier in order to do the shines, techniques and drill part of the Improvers Level 2 (everyone can benefit from this either to improve their existing technique or to familiarize themselves and prepare the techniques that will be needed at the next level.
If you are one of last term’s newer Improvers you haven’t learned all the improvers techniques yet (if you can’t do the following then you are in this group: basket, barrel, walk through, check, reverse copa to name a few) you definitely want to move to the earlier Improvers partner work slot at 19:15 – some of you may even want to move back to the 18:45 slot and do the improvers drills etc - see below
The last 30 minutes, the Intermediate levels class, will be done On2 (by unanimous decision, until there are sufficient numbers joining to merit otherwise) – don’t worry if you can’t do it yet, the idea is for you to learn how to.
It’s a bit complicated but it always works out you will soon find your level!
As before if the practice session is not utilized we will scrap it and move the classes forward half an hour – we are constantly asked for more practice time and we think it will progress you – so USE OR LOSE IT. So the schedule broken down further looks like, wait for it,……………..….this:
6:45 – 7:45 Improvers Level 1
6:45-7:15 Improvers shines, techniques and drills
7:15-7:45 Improvers partner work
