Hi J/22 Enthusiasts,
Fleet Member Steve Wolfe is signed up for a boat for this coming Wednesday Night - racing starts at 6 (if one more boat shows up), the marks are in the boxes on the end of E dock and we have a remote controlled starter with a smartphone interface so you can control the sequence from your pocket (download the SailBot App to run). Please reserve a boat and assign one job to one boat to get the race course and timing set up - this effort will require volunteers to make it all work but more hands make shorter work.
We have nine boats up and running right now with the tenth being worked on - so racing could be great, short, and right next to the bar. Feel free to coordinate crews and contact me here - the old race jibs are being rotated into the day use slots, so you will have better sails to work with this year and if the interest is there, we can break out the good mains as well. Short course racing will help work on starts, catching the first shift, catching up in roundings and much more. If you have children who want time in keelboats, bring them out and let them see what they can do, or if you've not done a lot of racing yourself and want to try it out, we don't really keep score and everything you do out there will teach you something about your boat, crew, and/or the competition.
Fleet sailing events are totally up to the membership to organize - I will have the boats ready to go and will lend a hand with the rest.
