J/Fest 2017: A Weekend of Celebrating 40 Years of J/Boats, September 22-24,
2017
SDYC is inviting J/Boats from all over SoCal to participate. If you have ever
sailed on, owned, raced on, cruised on, or loved a J/Boat, you will not
want to miss any of the special events of this celebration of all things
J/Boats. The festivities include competitive racing on the water and
social events after sailing!
Any J/Boat is eligible to participate, and all are welcome to race in One
Design or J/PHRF. Racing will occur on Saturday and Sunday. The J/22 Fleet
is invited to participate in a racing clinic with on-land instruction in the
morning and on the water coaching by World Class sailors.
Social Events on Race Weekend:
Friday, September 22 - 40th Anniversary of J/Boats Celebration, 6:00 - 8:30pm
Join us as we hear J/Boats President, Jeff Johnstone, share “J/Boats: 40 Years
- Past, Present, Future...” Everyone is invited to Mr. Johnstone’s
presentation and enjoy Hosted Wine and Pupu's
Saturday, September 23 - J/Fest Regatta Party “Sending it Back to ’77”,
4:30 - 9:30
Join the J/Boat sailors for a fun throw back to 1977! There will be fun
competitions among the crews, including “Best Vintage J/Fest T-shirt”, “Best
Dressed for the Disco”, and more surprises! Giveaways, 70’s band, and much
more! Dinner and beverages provided to sailors. Guests and Club members
are invited to purchase party tickets for $25 inclusive
