Hi All , I'm living in Santa Clara. I've been thru two battles with cancer. Treatment at Palo Alto VA has been excellent. I'm stlll going in for regular check ups but all reports are good. Wishing everyone well.

Hi All,
Wow Tate glad you doing well, I myself had a battle with cancer, getting my check ups at Stanford, this Dec 2023 will be 3 yrs remission since I finished treatment. Still in bay area Fremont, not for long as our home is on the market as we plan to move more North in CA. Steve is still with Lockheed but to retire in next year, says Sunnyvale is not the same as the good ole days…so much different and more folks living there which I sure you already know. He does a lot of tele commute working from home and staying busy. Stay strong and keep up the fight. Good to here from you. Have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday everyone, wishing all much peace and happiness in the coming new year!

Hi everybody and Happy Holiday
I attended Jimmy's Wong celebration of life gathering yesterday in San Jose. It was well attended by family, friends, neighbors and post-retirement activities friends. His granddaughter gave his life overview, and his family gave reflections of dad, grandfather and great grandfather.
Jimmy was in the US Navy in World War II and was recently awarded the Chinese American WWII veteran medal. Jimmy initially started working for Rand Corporation as a radar engineer. In 1957 his group was spun off in the creation of SDC and he became employee #00016 (Jim's actual SDC badge and other SDC memento was on display). Jim worked on lots of top-secret programs and never told his family what he did until recently. In oral history to Ken Burns in his World War II research. Jim retired in 1988 from SDC. I started working at SDC Santa Monica in 1977 and being the 2nd Wong at SDC, I have fond memories of people always asking me if I was related to Jimmy Wong in Sunnyvale. In 1985 when our daughter Kimberly was born, we moved back to San Francisco, and I transferred to SDC Sunnyvale and finally met Jimmy in person. Jimmy became my friend and mentor and I have fond memories of him coming back years after years after retirement to attend Katy's Wang annual Chinese New Year luncheon, and Jimmy being the elder always brings the Good Luck Red Envelope for everybody.
Being the sole SDC co-worker at the celebration I was asked to say a few words. I told everybody that we have an SDC employee web-site and we heard about Jim's passing, that there was an outpouring of remembrances and tribute messages from all his old co-workers far and near. I mentioned that most of his co-workers have either moved far away or are now in their late 70s, 80s or 90s. That I am the baby of the group and it was my honor to come to the celebration.
I also wrote in their guestbooks, "remembrances from From all your old SDC co-workers"
Jim's family wanted me to pass on their sincere thanks to everyone.
Even though Jim and I never worked on the same programs, I went on to describe how Jim was a legend at SDC and his Air Force counterparts and how he always got his programs completed on time and on budget due to his professionalism, hard work, dedication and how he treated his staff. I told them when I was hired on to SDC in 1977 that I was employee #20,248 and that Jimmy #00016 was the longest employee. I told them about my early days at SDC Santa Monica and being always asked if I am related to Jimmy. And as SDC went thru several mergers, in 1996 at Lockheed Martin we had 9 other Ed Wong's
