Hi Everyone,

Great to see everybody who made it at SC2010. I had a really good day,
lots of great conversations and hope everyone else enjoyed it too.

So far we've been having bi-monthly meetups on roughly the 3rd Friday
of every month. So that means the next meetup is due on the 19th
November. We're more than happy to host it at Eden in Winchester again
- but I'm really conscious that we're quite a way South. Would anybody
further North be prepared to host the November meetup? Would be great
if we could encourage some new faces, by moving the meetups around the
country.

I'm quite keen to run Matt Wynne's robot tournament at one of the next
few meetups, for those of you who were there at SC2010 it was a great
session, that challenges a few of our assumptions. You can see Matt's
original submission here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hd77KGk1kU

Thanks,

Steve (@tooky)

HI Steve,

If you guys want to run it in London, I could try to arrange something at SkillsMatter. We've got one night per month there available to LSCC, that we will be using at the beginning of November but could try to get another night there. In general, sessions at SkillsMatter go from 6.30pm to 8ish. I could speak to them and see if Nov 19th is available. I believe that if we get SkillsMatter, we could have between 30 to 40 people (needs to be confirmed).

Another alternative would be to use Valtech, where we are hosting our second meeting. Valtech is at a walking distance from SkillsMatter, 2 minutes from Barbican tube station. I can put up to 16 people there (maybe stretch to 20 if everyone is pairing) and would have pizza and drinks sponsored by them. Dates at Valtech are more flexible since I work there. :-)

Regardless where you decide to run it, if you want I could add that to LSCC's calendar, inviting all our members as well. It would be great to bring members of both communities together.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers,
Sandro

Hi Guys,

Having spoken to Sandro offline I think the London plan sounds great
for sometime next year.

So, the November meetup will be Friday, 19th November at the Eden
Development offices in Winchester.

Would be great to see a couple of lightning talks early on, then I'd
like to have a go at Matt Wynne's robot tournament. If someone has an
idea for a different challenge than tic tac toe, that would be great -
ping me off-group and we'll put it together.

I'll set up a signup page shortly.

Cheers,
Steve
