Hi Everyone,

I hope you're all well?

Sorry there hasn't been much going on lately. I would really like to organise another meeting in the next month or two and I'm on the hunt for a venue!

If anyone would like to host the next event that would be great!

Steve

For Surrey Rubyists meet ups we are using a pub in Woking - it has a projector, and we get the room for free because we buy some drinks and food.

I don't know the town well, but perhaps there is a pub in Winchester that would do a similar arrangement, if there isn't a company that could host us?

Hi Gavin,

Finding a friendly pub might be a good option :-)

We don't need to stay in Winchester though! In fact, it would be great if there was somewhere further-a-field we could use! Hopefully give people who found Winchester difficult a chance to attend.

How about getting to St Pancras or Kings Cross? Or some other central London station...

I'm sure there are a few pubs in the area! ;)

London or Woking are both good options for me :)

Be sure to talk to the London Software Craftsmanship Community too! They have a lot going on at the moment.

I'm happy to add the next SCGUK meeting to the LSCC's calendar if you want to. I'm sure some of our members, including myself, would be interested to attend as well.

Also, every one here is more than welcome to attend any of the events promoted by LSCC.

I've been shying away from hosting a meeting in London, mostly because David and Sandro are doing a great job of hosting SC events in London! Having additional events outside London will hopefully reach more people!

What does everyone else think?

Hi again,

I've found a potential venue for the next meeting.

Would a meeting in Manchester interest enough people in the group to make it worthwhile?

Please could you reply to this message if you'd be interested in a meetup in Manchester?

Cheers,
Steve

Manchester would be good for me.

There are a load of tech groups in Manchester with members who might be
interested. Particularly XP Manchester:

There are also active language groups, e.g. PyNW, NWRug and general tech
groups e.g. GeekUp.
