Party for the Planet

Join us in celebrating our ocean planet during Party for the Planet on April 20-21 from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. This family-friendly event features an hourly dance party, people-powered music and interactive stations that show how we can collectively tackle some of our planet’s greatest challenges! All activities are included with aquarium admission.

Our very own Meatloaf has been selected as a contender in Penguins International’s 2024 March of the Penguin Madness Tournament! She is in Division 1, and the first round of voting begins on Sunday, March 17. Voting closes after 48 hours, and can be done in three ways:

Understanding Atmospheric Rivers

Our next Perspectives on Ocean Science Lecture— Understanding Atmospheric Rivers: Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes — takes place on Monday, April 8, from 7-8 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

Join Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes Deputy Director Julie Kalansky to learn how scientists are researching the causes and consequences of these rivers in the sky, and are working to understand the impact of climate change on the frequency and intensity of these amazing weather phenomena.

Lectures are free for members and $12 for the general public. Seating is limited and advanced reservations are required for all guests, including members.

Stay for Seasonal Hours

We’re open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. most days through Labor Day! Grab a bite or a beer at Splash! Café and enjoy the aquarium in a whole new light. Don’t miss the start of a beautiful sunset on Tide Pool Plaza or the opportunity to witness the way animals behave at twilight.

During seasonal hours, all exhibits and hands-on activities  — as well as Splash! Café and the Gift Shop — will remain open. Please note, the aquarium may close early on select dates for special events.

Summer Camp 2024

During summer camp, campers meet animals, snorkel and surf, explore underwater worlds and so much more! Camps are filling fast, so be sure to register ASAP.

Camps with LIMITED availability:

  • Half-Day Camps for ages 4-5
    • Sea Squirts – afternoon spots available
    • Sea Slugs – afternoon spots available
  • Full-Day Camps for ages 11-13
    • Ocean Adventures
    • Surfing Into Science
