This rare indigenous turkey of the Yucatan Peninsula is related to our wild turkeys, which became domesticated turkeys. They are hunted by the local natives, but this researcher hopes to save them and develop them as a sport hunting population that will support the local economy in a more sustainable way. Hear an interview with Jon McRoberts about ocellated turkeys today, October 25th, from 1-2 pm EST.  You can live stream it at www.theradiator.org.  Shortly after the broadcast, you'll be able to download it at iTunes, www.laurelneme.com/wildliferadio, or http://laurelneme.podbean.com
