Is there a way to turn off the moderator feature on the group? It's a bummer to post something and not see it until a week later...

Who's responsible for looking into the group settings and such?

We do keep the moderation to stop the drive by hate mail, i can see
about someone added this email to the group.

I had no idea there was such an amount of drive-by hate mail. We should bring this up at the next meeting so we might get police detail protection at our rites, and have the cyber division of the DPD to look into these hate-mails. If you've kept them, we can submit them for data forensics so the haters can be caught and prosecuted.

We've been fortunately free of any hate mail that I can recall. The
worse we've got is 'Nigirian' scams. I'm not really worried about
prosecutions and such. Those types of things usually come from zelots
who are lonely and bored. I'm not really in favor of a police presence
at rites. I think we have enough scary looking people attending our
rituals to keep creeps at bay. If you worry about every putz with an
ax to grind, life will soon become a paranoid nightmare. I think they
usually carpet bomb sites and e-mail anyway.

Way back when we decided to moderated the group so that the site was
calm and free of crap. The only way a members post gets moderated is
if it comes from an e-mail that is not on our list. I know that many
of us have multiple e-mails, so it sometimes happens that we get
messages from one that is not on record. If you want to submit other e-
mail addresses, we'll get them on the approved list.

Bright Blessings!

Tony

Tony (who was mistakenly logged in as me in the last post)

The reason that we don't get any drive by hate mail (or spam) on the
boards is because we moderate. I'm sorry if it causes a momentary
snafu for members who have several emails, but it has been discussed
at length within the council (several times) and everyone agreed that
it is just better for a small amount of inconvenience in order for
people to not wind up with gross stuff in our inboxes.

William as a cyber pagan who refuses to "friend" grove mates who cuss
to your facebook page I think you would be a little more sensitive to
the needs of the masses to not have poisonous things on the boards and
in their personal emails. I'm sure that you can appreciate that our
scribe, Pamela, works very hard to update boards, and sites and
moderating post. I know that she has had some internet issues but I
for one think she does a great job of trying to stay on top of
everything (especially as the person who had the thankless task and of
constantly being questioned and "corrected")

Thanks
(the real) Jorja
