Membership Meeting of Silver Branch Golden Horn, ADF.

Held on 8 June, 2013 at the Irish Snug

Attending:

1.       Anthony Fleming

2.       Gray Dawn

3.       Rowan

4.       Gwernin

5.       Kevin

6.       Storm

-Due to bereavement, Senior Druid Pamela was not in attendance. The meeting was chaired by Anthony Fleming, Preceptor.

-The meeting was opened with a toast and blessing for Ralphie, Pamela’s beloved dog.

-The first order of business was a finances report from Gray Dawn, Pursewarden.

*The grove has on hand 674.00, which is approximately what we held at this time last year. The only major recent purchase was a new pavilion for about 100.00.

*It was resolved to get a PayPal account attached to our Website in order to solicit donations.

-The second order of business was to determine rather or not to have a Pagan Pride Day booth, and to plan operations for the event.

*It was decided that PPD is always a public relations asset to the grove, but that from a fund raising standpoint we lose money on the event.

*Therefore, we will only rent one booth space this time.

*We will go for a less cluttered appearance, focusing on information and items for sale that benefit the grove. There will, however, be some space dedicated to items for sale by members.

*We will also sell ‘bake sale’ items, if permitted by law and regulation.

*We will try to get on the schedule for a demonstration ritual, and attempt to schedule it for earlier than last time. It was generally agreed that this would ensure better attendance.

-Third Item: Winter Quarters.

*It was agreed that we need to find a new home for winter rituals, because we are out-growing Spirit Wise, and due to handicapped accessibility issues.

*In the conversation, it came out that most members are unhappy at Cheeseman Park due to crowding, limited parking, and limited facilities.

*It was resolved that we will seek other parks for warm weather events, and focus on parks with pavilions and fire pits that would allow for outdoor winter High Days.

*Kevin volunteered to contact Unitarian Churches to see if we could get reasonable rates on spaces there.

-Fourth Item: Ritual procedures in bad weather.

*It was agreed that we should come up with protocols for when to cancel ritual due to bad weather.

*It was agreed that we should establish a phone tree to let everyone possible know of a cancellation.

-Fifth Item: It was proposed and carried that the next meeting be held at The Cheeky Monk due to noise and space problems at The Irish Snug.

-Sixth Item: Storm brought a proposal that the grove join The Colorado Preservation Inc, a non-profit organization for historical preservation. While it was agreed that the 100.00 fee was not in the budget at this time, Storm has the blessing of the grove to make a proposal at Midsummer for donations for such a membership.
