Pamela and I have come up with some great ideas for the Best Bard in
Denver and the Best Booze in Denver.

Dates: we have some tentative dates 8/25/12 or 10/13/012

Location: Right now we are thinking of Jefferson Unitarian Church
(because they have a stunning kitchen and are pagan friendly) we are
contacting them to get more info.

Bardic contest: Here is the ideas we came up with
Open to singers, poets and story tellers age 16 and up
You are allowed 1 person do musical accompaniment which you must
provide (no back singers)
You are allowed up to 5 minutes in length
No bands/ duets
1 Piece per person
There will be a limit of 20 entries allowed in this contest people
first come (registered and paid for) first served. We need to have a
stopping point and this allows us to have the contest go for about 2
hrs including intro time
Entry fee is 10$ and includes your meal (if you want to judge Best
booze there is a separate charge)
The winner is determined be a majority vote of attendees.

Best Booze
You must be 21 to enter or judge
You must bring a total of 1500 ml (aka 50 oz) of booze to the
competition
You must tell us what’s in it (or at least give us an idea so we can
tell people with allergies)
Entry fee is 10$ and includes your meal (if you bring a extra bottle
250 ml or more for us to raffle then entry fee is 5$ )
There will be a limit of 12 entries allowed in this contest people
first come (registered and paid for) first served (12- 1 oz shots is
enough we don’t need people driving drunk)
The winner is determined be a majority vote of attendees.
Food: Spaghetti supper with meat or meatless sauce, salad with choice
of Italian or Ranch, Coffee, tea or Ice tea to drink.
Deserts for donation (have grove members make homemade treats for a
modest donation (maybe a cupcake for 2$)
We were also of thinking of selling tickets for 10$ (or 12$ the door)
for just Dinner or 20$(or 22$ at the door) for dinner and the Booze
judging. (There will be a limit of 50 for the booze because anything
more than that would require more bottles or a smaller sampling (and
per our mead judge you really need an ounce to do a proper tasting)
If you are interested in helping out with the planning, cooking,
desert baking, set up, clean up, or whatever please let us know. I
know that it is a lot of hard thankless work but it is for a good
cause (Our Grove)

I'm looking forward to the event, and I think it will be another of
the many successes that have helped put us at the forefront of the
Denver Pagan community!

My thanks to Jorja and Pamela for their hard work so far!
