They mostly moved to other forums. As of 1 September, it is no longer legal to FPV in Texas.  :_(

Who says its "illegal".  the FAA doesnt write the laws, nor are they in a position to enforce it.

The sate of Texas said it is illegal. H.B. No. 912.
 
Although FPV could be legal in Texas, so long as you do not "capture" or record the video.

Well they have to catch you and they have to prove the video was taken intentionally.  If your camera is facing forward the footage is incidental.  There are alot of loopholes in the bill.  Basically it has no teeth.

So let's explore that...

I'm very interested in doing something with glasses.  Something like FatShark.  I have no intention of capturing the video, and from what I've seen on youtube it looks like a lot of fun.  But on the other hand I don't want to adopt a hobby where I'm constantly being harassed.  Does anyone know for sure if the lack of a capture device on the quad qualifies as legal?
