Friends and Neighbors,

Just one more week until the First Annual Columbia Heights Day!

Check out www.columbiaheightsday.org for an updated schedule (including bands/performances!). The festival grounds are being held at Harriet Tubman Elementary, many thanks to the school's administration for their support!

The Volunteer Meeting is being held this Sunday at 12noon (Sept. 30th), hosted by our good friends at the Wonderland Ballroom (Kenyon and 11th St). As many of you know, we can't have a festival without volunteers, they are the life-blood of any festival, so please find the time to lend a hand .  We plan to go over job responsibilities, then pass-out some fliers in the neighborhood while walking over to Fiesta DC in Mt. Pleasant. Some of us are also going to the Crafty Bastards Fair in Adams Morgan. My mom is flying in from Texas to come celebrate CH Day (she loves Columbia Heights), please don't make her do all of the work! (I will put her to work though).

Kudos to the DC Dept of Homeland Security for closing down Kenyon Street (13th to 11th Street) for Public Safety reasons, they're always keeping an eye out for us! I'm, sure the kiddos from Tubman are uber-appreciative too!

Don't forget, Sticky Fingers is hosting a community Dog walk starting at 11am at Sticky Fingers, I think Doron has some special things planned, so dress-up your dog and go for a stroll...

Lastly, BIG THANKS to our largest financial contributors (our very own sugar daddies and mommas): our Local ANC, Wonderland Ballroom (thanks Matt and Rose!), and Chatel Real Estate, Inc. (this is where I earn my beer money). I am not forgetting the cool people that donated $5, $10, $20 and $100 donations, I just can't list all of the names on this email, but you guys ROCK!

Please keep an eye open for an email regarding SHIRT SALES. We have some special shirts for sale, including lady's baby t's and commemorative CH Day Shirts with the Wonderland logo!! We plan to have them for sale next Thursday and Friday at Wonderland.
