So I, as I'm sure most of us are, was shocked buy the Supreme Court's decision outlawing race-based mandates in the nationwide effort to desegregate public schools. This decision flies in the face of Brown V. Board of Education and as the normally soft spoken Justice Stephen Bryer put it in his strongly worded SPOKEN dessent, "It is not often in the law that so few have so quickly changed so much." But, as i try to keep an open mind, here is an Op-Ed from Juan Williams, senior NPR commentator and race-commentator extrordinaire, on how the time had truly come to strike down such race-based mandates in an effort to do what Brown had failed to accomplish for more than 40 years.

Editorial:  Resegregation Now
Thursday was a sad day for the Supreme Court and for the ideal of racial equality.
