Friday, 8 May 2026: The South African Communist Party (SACP) held a bilateral meeting with the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania at the headquarters of the SACP in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, on 8 May 2026.
The SACP delegation was led by General Secretary Comrade Solly Mapaila, while the PAC delegation was led by Deputy President Comrade Jaki Seroke.
The bilateral meeting discussed the various affairs that impact the nation and shared perspectives on the urgent and critical matters on the table for the people of South Africa.
The bilateral meeting affirmed a shared liberation tradition between the two organisations and a shared commitment to defending the national liberation cause even in the present historical period, and drive development for the benefit of the oppressed masses while resisting neoliberalism and the conservative agenda.
The PAC confirmed its attendance and participation in the Conference of the Left to take place from 29 to 31 May 2026.
The meeting further agreed on a joint team, drawn from the two organisations, to work out common programmes and campaigns to cement and put to practice the bilateral cooperation.
