Taking lots of factors into consideration, it seemed best to cancel our attempts to make, on this occasion only, a very early Sunday Rueda Club work this month. So NO RC on 9th Nov.

But the Friday one is ON as usual at the end of the month:

NO RUEDA CLUB ON SUNDAYS FOR NOW

As we've explained before, the Merlin team are understandably trying out other attractions before the Salsa Sunday nights at the Merlin. This will continue into 2009. Rather than cope with earlier and unpredictable timings, it seemed best for everyone for Rueda Club to focus on the unchanging Salsa Friday slots, and for us to leave Sundays for now, at least until things become clearer. Plus there are Sagi's popular weekly Rueda classes. And of course we will want to support the new pre-Merlin things too.

NEXT MALECON MATINEE, Sun 15th Feb, 3-6pm, £5 incl drinks

We had a great "1st Birthday" MM with Lily's class before it on Saturday, but that's the last MM this year. January has the Scottish Salsa Congress in the middle, so February is the next MM to look forward to. 

For 2009, we're finalising our plan to go primarily for Sundays. But there's some Saturdays if we can't find a Sunday at the venue, and there are no other monthly events that weekend. And whatever the day it will be 3-6pm - so the class will always be 1.30pm prompt.

Rueda Clubs are now going to get rare, but there's one this week, so you'd better be there! I'm at last able to get there this time, and also feeling fitter and more enthusiastic than ever after thriving through a full weekender in Manchester!

It's been a long gap for Rueda Club, but I for one (and maybe lots of other salseros of all styles too) are now on a high after a fabulous Scottish Salsa Congress last weekend. So we're looking forward to an inspiring new world of fun and skill starting now and at the Merlin this week. Come and share in all this in the company of the man who takes most credit for leading this generous, collaborative and miraculously successful adventure - our very own Sagi! Of course credit also goes to all those others who made it work so well. 

Some good Rueda stuff from the Congress to pass on too! One of many great discoveries to celebrate at the Scottish Congress was the Scottish teachers whose workshops were "up there" with the big names for quality. I could obviously go on about the weekend, couldn't I . . . !

By the way, some of you might find this info useful from Keith:  The Merlin (main bar) are currently offering £5 main course deals on food (applicable 6 pm - 8 pm) includes a choice of burgers meals, fish & chips and vegetarian selection etc.
