After no Rueda Club last month, and talk of changes, it's a good old fashioned normal RC month this time! So this is the normal old Sunday timing. The Merlin team are working on ideas for Sundays that might mean earlier RC times in future, but not this time.

Keeping up our work on Son, we're repeating the successful split class. We may have a Cuban teacher guy joining Lily this time. Fun afternoon last time! Tell your friends. Children welcome, under 14 free. With something for all ages and stages, MM lives up to its billing of being like the all-day social clubs in Cuba.   "Malecon" comes from the famous Havana sea front; and Salsa Celtica's song was about ours, El Portobello Malecon. Our monthly Malecon Matinee celebrates the beautiful more traditional contra tiempo Son and Salsa. Variety includes Los Van Van, Cuban Ceilidh, Rueda, ordinary Salsa - plus our new "2 minute classes" for Merengue and Bachata too.   Learn: Beginners and Improvers classes before or at start. Cuban Ceilidh for all. On the side teaching for beginners available during MM.   Entry: £5 entry includes drinks. All proceeds saved for future live Cuban bands etc.  Where: Instead of Buena Vista we've got Beach Lane Social Club behind Portobello Police Station on the High Street.  Park on or off the High Street. MALECON MATINEE: 2009 Dates, 3-6pm, Portobello, £5 (incl free drinks)

Make sure you get your 2009 diary and put these dates in it! Usually 3rd Weekend of the Month. Note that all MMs now 3-6pm; all are on Sundays . . . exc where it says Saturday, those being important weekends with fewer Salsa events.  

Jan - No MM; Feb - 15th; Mar - 15th; Apr - No MM; May - Sat 23rdl June - 21st; July - No MM; Aug - Sat 15th; Sept - 20th; Oct - 18th; Nov - Sat 14th; Dec - No MM.
