Hi Malecon Matinee Amigos (and Ruederos)

OK here's the details of September's workshop before MM. I've put in the full wording that I'm using on Salsaholics and in Salsalink. Any improvements to my advertising skills are welcome.

SON CLASSES: Lili (Imp) & MM Team (Beg), Sat 20th Sept 12.45-2.15pm, Beach Lane Social Club, Portobello, £9
More of you want to discover the importance and beauty of Cuban Son music and dance in enjoying your Salsa. But you need to keep working on it! It helps to have a local based Cuban teacher as good as Lili to help us - and especially for ladies' Cuban styling. So that Lili can focus on those with more experience of the basics of Son, the MM team will run a beginners class separately. Let Kath know you're coming at 07738 363553 or email her at proj...@caledonialanguages.co.uk   But please also just turn up on the day. Then stay on for the fun of Malecon Matinee afterwards 2.30-5.30pm. See Malecon Matinee details for how to get there.

MALECON MATINEE, Sat 20th Sept, 2.30-5.30pm, Beach Lane Social Club, Portobello, £5 incl drinks
Inspired by all-day social clubs in Cuba, our monthly Malecon Matinee celebrates the beautiful more traditional Cuban music and dance. Contra tiempo Son and Salsa is not played much in UK Salsa clubs. Variety includes Los Van Van and Rueda, and ordinary Salsa too.  "Malecon" comes from the famous Havana sea front; and Salsa Celtica's song was about ours, El Portobello Malecon. Get in the mood with select Youtube videos of Cuba, Son, Casino and Rueda at: http://tinyurl.com/2f4mzu     "Now I'm really in the mood for my visit to Cuba"!  Tell your friends.

Learn: Improvers class before or at start. Cuban Ceilidh for all. On the side teaching for beginners available during MM.
Entry: £5 entry includes drinks. All proceeds saved for future live Cuban bands etc.
Where: Instead of Buena Vista we've got Beach Lane Social Club behind Portobello Police Station on the High Street.  Park on or off the High Street. Lots of buses. For maps, go to: http://tinyurl.com/2yhxll
When: Irregular but usually Sat or Sun of 3rd weekend of the month. For reliable future details by email, send an email to:

NO RUEDA CLUB during September
Remember there's no RC during September. Long story so I won't bore you again. Salsa Sunday at the Merlin IS on with a new ordinary salsa class, Janice this time, on 14th Sept at 7pm. No Salsa Friday.

SAGI CLASSES, Tuesdays, Cruz
So get on down to Leith on Tuesdays for Sagi's fun classes. Improvers at 8pm, Beginners 9pm. Though when I covered for him, I'd say the Beginners were doing rather better than that!
