2011 was an awesome year for the circuit benders. And we want to thank everyone who helped to make it possible. To celebrate these end-of-the-year festivities we are hosting a little party featuring our first Electric Elephant Swap (a nerdy variation on White Elephant).

Here's how it will work:

• Bring an inexpensive wrapped geeky/nerdy gift (books, DVDs, components, bent toys, unbent toys, gift cards, tools, CD of recent projects, something you just have to get out of your house, cold hard cash -- really anything goes)
• Place your gift on the "work table" to get a "ticket"
• At exactly 1:00 PM we will start drawing tickets from a bucket
• When your ticket is called, pick from the table of gifts or "steal" an already selected gift
• If your gift is "stolen" you get to pick a new one from the table
• When all the gifts are distributed then the unwrapping begins
• After unwrapping, feel free to swap with someone (if they want to)

In addition to the funsies there will be the usual soldering, tinkering, hacking, circuit bending, chatting, show & tell, and Chicago's only regular Circuit Bent Open Mic. So feel free to bring a project, or bring a wee bit of gear and get ready to make some noise with your fellow hacker artists!
