There has been progress since the closing. First a forestry inventory and
forestry plan was completed. Second the required environmental review was
completed. This includes federal requirements. We now will have the required
public hearing on April 15. These steps are required by law when logging
state lands. So we are right on track.
After the public meeting we will send out a bid to log. Then when the vendor
is selected contract for tree removal. Then the area can be opened.
If we didn't follow this and one person is injured the place could be closed
for good. Plus the club cannot manage this on their own. The people crying
are not the ones doing the work.
We will get the park open as soon as possible.

Even though it's state gov't, I assumed that something was being done since
it's been 3 or so months, good weather, slow time for contractors, DNR
losing revenue on permit sales, etc.
