October 21, 2008   Greetings,   Last week you received the letter and pledge card introducing the 2008 Stewardship Campaign. This coming Sunday the first of four Stewardship inserts will be in the Church bulletin.   Over the past year we have seen an increase in church attendance, many interesting programs and a growth in the Sunday School. These are just a few of the things that have taken place in 2008. We look forward to continuing to work along with John Heeckt, taking part in plans and programs for our continued spiritual and church growth.   As you prayerfully consider your pledge for 2009, here are some excerpts from this coming Sunday’s insert:           "Giving is first doxology, or giving praise. Praising is prizing, which is how we got           the word in English. It honors something we cherish and focuses on God.          Concentrate on God’s power and promise. Praise connects us with what we          consider enduringly valuable. May our giving glorify God!"   Pledges will be received at any time. You may mail them, give them to me or put them in the offering plate. If you have not received the letter and pledge card or have any questions, please feel free to contact me.   On Sunday, November 16th a pot luck brunch will follow the worship service.
