DU'A BEFORE RISING UP FROM ANY GATHERING

The Prophet Muhammad SAW is reported to have said: that whomsoever that sits in a gathering whereby there is much negligence and futile talk, and then before he rises, recites the following du'a, then all of his sins that would have been recorded through the gathering will be forgiven by Allah Ta'ala.

The du'a is as follows:

It is common that when people sit together with family, friends and acquaintances - there is always tendency to indulge in backbiting, slandering, and evil statements; all of which are sinful.

It is thus for this reason that before we depart from meetings with family, friends, acuqiantances, and even from any gathering - we should make effort to recite this very du'a.
