Sanguinololu VS Ramps 1.4

Does anyone know why people are swtiching from the standard Ramps 1.4 to Sanguinololu (http://reprap.org/wiki/Sanguinololu).  I know it has more advanced electronics, but is that really important?  I was thinking about building one.

The drivers are identical, both use the same pololu boards.  RAMPS requires a mega plus a shield whereas the SL is integrated. The SL will give a smaller footprint and may be cheaper, but RAMPS gives you the option to replace the mega from radio shack if you blow one. Also with RAMPS is the ability to have more than one mega flashed with different firmware, although I've never seen anyone use that option.
