Holidays, travel, family, work or lack thereof - it can all stress us
out. But we don't have to let it.
This season let's meet the challenge of Holiday Stress and move through
it with a sense of grace and well being. Ok maybe that's a lot to ask
for. Let's just try this:

1) STAY PRESENT. A big part of stress is anticipating what MIGHT
happen. When we feel ourselves worrying, projecting into the future
awfulness of Aunt Susie's fruitcake it's important to stop. Ask
ourselves, "Is the fruticake here? Do we have to have a piece?" Then
move on to step #2:

2) BREATHE. When we feel stress creeping up, stop, take a full breath
in through the nose, exhale slowly through the nose and keep it going.
Long full deep breaths remind us that we are ok and we have resources.

3) Our most important resource when times are challenging is the
BALANCE we keep in our daily lives - whether it's 5 minutes of yoga or
a cup of coffee each day at 7:14 AM, some regular touchstones keep us
grounded and remind us that the stress we are feeling is temporary and
doesn't have to be part of our regular routine.

4) If the stress is overwhelming, we may need to RESET. Take time to
stop, get back on track and re-commit to what keeps us balanced - and
remember that we deserve to get through whatever challenges the
holidays bring happy and unscathed.
