Requirements to work as an Respiratory Therapist in Canada:
-basically you complete and graduate from a three year program at a
school in Canada (your last year being all clinical rotation)
-then you need to pass your CSRT National Exam which is offered in July
and January.
-you need to take this as soon as possible after completion of your
rotation (so for most of us this is July). You can work in the small
time period from completion of your clinical rotation (in May here) to
your exam (July here) with pay and with successful completion you will
receive back pay
-If you are unsuccessful at the National Exam it is kinda up to the
hospital if you can still work there (as a GRT). I believe that the
maximum time perid from completion of the program to the exam is 2
years, but I am not entirely sure.

-As for associated degree, I have never heard of that before
-CRT, I am assuming this stands for certified RT, and I also don't
think we use this terminology here

SRT- Student RT
GRT- Graduate RT (the time period bw completion of
the program and the National Exam)
RRT- Registered RT

When you are an RRT you end up with a diploma. Lots of schools have
the option of getting a degree in health sciences (an additional two
years), for those who didn't already have a degree before entering the
program.

Well I think you would have to write our exam. Because we have to write
yours to work in the US. Here we make $26.35 - $33.87 per hour.
