Hello all,
I've booked Kelly's bar to hold this event in Galway for this Sunday 13th (details of Dublin event below) to get the different groups & people together who are working for change -  Reset, 2nd Republic, Reclaim our future, Spunout, Upstart.......not forgetting Monty Pytons United Peoples Judea Front!
Rehearsal for the following week, Sun 20th - Kelly's are into this becoming a regular event & they are one of the few venues in Galway with the equiptment to do live link ups.

OPEN MIC
Would like to use this Sunday to get Galway's questions to our 'leaders' into Newstalks youtube digital debate- will need people who can do filming and uploading
to run an open mic session on 13th - they have to be submitted by 15th.
YOUTUBE - QUESTIONS FROM GALWAY
http://www.newstalk.ie/2011/programmes/all-programmes/breakfast/youtubenewstalk-digital-debate/

Would also like to show some of the art work/posters that artists have submitted to upstart.ie
UpStart - arts collective which aims to put creativity at the centre of public consciousness during the Irish General Election Campaign in 2011. We plan to do this by reinterpreting the spaces commonly used for displaying election campaign posters in Dublin City and are calling on all artists to submit work for this exhibition

Will be doing Skype call to Pals in Gaza & Egypt as a test run - we're not the only ones looking to our constitution & people's movement to ignite the massive change needed.  We also should be linking up with the other PIGS (what our lovely EU partners call Portugal, Ireland, Greece & Spain) - as a society we need  to use video conferencing as tool.

The event will run on Sunday  20th Feb in Kelly's with Galway candidates & guests.
Ideas for guests most welcome!
Details of Dublin gig below,
all the best,
Niamh

Hey Niamh,

This is great.
I will put a call out to friends to come. Have you managed to get people running to come for Q&A on the 20th? Might be good to talk to Kate Howard it seems she has had some success in getting them to speak on the arts at the Radisson.

Best

Kevin

Hello everyone,
Below is the outline for next Sunday, I have put the focus more on getting people involved & promoting the inititives people have been working on,
as well as giving our local candidates & public space to debate.
It would be great if the different inititives take this opportunity to present the work you have all been doing for reforms, constitutions, National Convention & referendam etc, to audience which will be filmed & uploaded to youtube.

So could Reset have someone come & present the Reform score card
reformcard.com/node/12 - Cached
2nd Republic talk about the National convention & ideas for a citizens involvement etc
www.2nd-republic.ie/ - Cached
Reclaim our future - present the ideas for fairer taxs etc
Spunout - promote your small grants and think tank

I'm aiming to run this event regularly, working towards a Citizens Assembly/National convention and creating a space for us to engage with who ever is elected after the 25th.  I need to get this flyer check & editied and hope to have done by end of today - if you could promote this event with your groups be great!
I'll be at Kelly's today from 7pm to look at technical specs of venue.
Thanks for your time & all the best,
Niamh

Hello Niamh,

Just a correction while I presented the Reformcard idea at Reset its really Johnny Ryans baby. We have no involvement in the project other than having initially supported Johnny by promoting it at Reset and online among the Open Data community. It really is its own thing. With this in mind it would not be appropriate for Reset to present the Reformcard. However we would be happy to talk about Reset and about our vision of Open Government. Are you looking for 5 - 10 min presentations?

Best

Kevin
