How right you are I was active from 1969 to 1974,  I guess that doesn't count.

Gents: I have been following this situation from afar but, I have had enough. Can someone fill me in on the bill that was proposed , who initially sponsored it (Kerry? ) and what was the exact reason it was shot down ( how much it would cost?) . We can bailout greedy Wall St, bailout the automakers but, to hell with all the reservists who left there careers, homes , families etc to support the GWOT. Even those reservists who did not deploy and did their 20 years deserve to collect at 55. To give me 90 days for every 90 I served after 2001 is an insult and just BS. I did not vote for Obama but, if by some miracle this goes through and passes during his term , he will get my next vote. I plan on writing my Congressman , Peter king ( a lot of Wall St people live on Long Island ) and see what his take is on this. Anyone who can spin me up on this ,it would be appreciated.

I have over 4 years of active duty since desert strom. None of this counts.  But it is a start, and they probable will get around to lowering the age.  I am already 56 though so by the time they did get it right I will already be receiving retirement pay.

The original bill stated, this is not a quote, but close.  To reduce the retirement age for retired reservist to collect their benefits, from age 60 to 55.  Pretty simple in my opinion.  The original estimated cost was 7 billion dollars over 10 year, which would be 700 million a year.  What is that cost compared to what all these fat cats for their bailouts?
