I've noticed that every Psi or RV board that I go to discusses mainly
dreams or dream-states in order to acquire psychic data.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone knows of any research in the opposite
direction: wide awake states. Or any websites or articles about such
research?

I wonder because a lot of my best psychic data has come while I'm wide
awake. Sometimes on 3 cups of coffee. I guess I figure it happened to
me as a child. I was a severe asthmatic and was on Alupent, Theodur,
and Prednisone. The side effect of all three medications is insomnia,
especially prednisone. Unfortunately, my mother would give the three
meds to me before I went to sleep. As a result, I'd lay in bed all
night unable to fall asleep and the sun would come up and I'd have to
go to school the next day without sleeping.

As a result, I guess my brain developed differently. With all the
sleepless nights, when I was tested and tested and tested, I was
supposed to be placed in a Gifted Children's Boarding School. Mom
refused. So the district wanted to bump me up two grade levels. Mom
refused. So the district allotted special funds just for me to create
a Gifted Program solely for me. I was the only kid in the Gifted
Program. (Pretty large school district too)

I guess I figure that there's lots of other asthmatics out there who
were forced to take these insomnia-causing meds as children.
Therefore, others brains might have developed the same way as mine.

As for some of my best-vivid and correct premonitions: usually after a
lot of coffee. I made hundreds of maps to sunken coastlines all around
the globe while wide awake (essentially mapping lots of sunken cities
at the same time). And even my correct location abilities (finding
people in different cities) always have happened while I was wide
awake. Never in dreams.

So I'm wondering if there's any research out there on psychic
phenomena in wide-awake states, cause everyone seems to focus on
dreams or dream-states. Any help in finding such research would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

you open with "I've noticed that every Psi or RV board that I go to

Forgive me if my reply seems terribly unhelpful (or downright rude) I just fail to see how you are getting such results - maybe you are mis-understanding how most people do remote viewing - aquiring psychic data while sleeping is the expression you used - when I placed this expression in quotes into a search in google - not one single quote came back - though many sites with these words in who knows what order did of course came back - BUT when I placed that same search of the acquiring psychic data while sleeping in quotes with the quote "Remote Viewing" not one single site in the entire Googleverse was returned - so this may prove nothing, or, it may bolster the view that you made the whole situation up - that you never did really have a problem where all the sites you visited talked about aquiring psychic data while sleeping - if so - yikes!!!?? stop popping those anti asthmatic speed pills - they might cause "unhinged prevarications"

I think I understand the Remote Viewing procedures, are you sure you
do? Or did you just jump in when having a bad day and decide to argue
without fully reading what I wrote?

Remote Viewing is done by a person learning to regress their mind into
a state of theta. Theta is an almost sleep state, right before REM
sleep. Therefore, the process of using Remote Viewing to acquire
psychic data is by regressing the mind through techniques to almost
theta (near REM) to get the data. That's what I've read in several
Remote Viewing books. That would make Remote Viewing a "sleep-mind-
regression" technique for psychic data.

<<stop popping those anti asthmatic speed pills - they might cause
"unhinged prevarications">>

That's beyond rude to all the millions of asthmatics in the world.
Because the side-effect to EVERY asthma medication on the market IS
insomnia. Feel free to look up every asthma medication on the market,
and the warning label on every prescription name or over-the-counter
will give a side-effect warning of insomnia. There isn't a single
asthma med out there without the side-effect of insomnia. Basically,
with the arrogance that you posted you are telling millions of asthma
sufferers, if you want to sleep and not have insomnia, don't take your
meds and stop breathing.

Maybe an apology is in order for the millions of asthma sufferers
around the world for a comment like that.

MM,
Which books did you read this in? While it is true that some remote viewers do some sort of "cool down," not all do and it isn't at all the case that remote viewing requires one to first put the mind into an almost sleep state. I wasn't trained to do that and haven't seen Ingo, Paul, Lyn, or Joe do or teach others to do that. Early work/studies in remote viewing used regressive techniques sometimes, but there were many things tried and the resulting technology was not one that required putting the mind into theta. Or if it was, I've missed seeing that and some of the trainers out there might have to since they don't teach people to do that. So I am wondering what book(s) you're referring to which do say "remote viewing is done by a person learning to regress their mind into a state of theta."
Thanks,
Tamra

Stop being so thin skinned and list the source references that says
one has to be in a somnolent state in order to remote view?

Well it had to be in one of the three original books that I read, but
which of the three off the top of my head...not sure which one.
Either...
Dale Graff's Tracks in the Psychic Wilderness
Joe McMoneagle's Remote Viewing Secrets
Paul Smith's Reading the Enemy's Mind

On a quick search of keywords "Remote Viewing" with theta, there's
hundreds of hits. Just to quote a few websites...

"The Remote Viewing Course teaches you to operate at the deep Theta"
www.remoteviewinglight.com/html/remote-viewing-faq.html

"This is why we attempt to communicate at the barely conscious level
of theta..."
www.rainfall.com/cdroms/remote_viewing.htm

"Extended remote viewing happens in the theta."
www.astralvoyage.com/remote/um.html

"Full Remote Viewing Training Session 3. Entering Deep Theta"
probablefuture.com/Audio-Clips.htm

"Theta region was experimentally known to be a better mind level for
remote viewing, ..."
www.americanchronicle.com/articles/28544

Feel free to browse through the search engines. There's hundreds of
examples on different websites about Remote Viewing and theta.

MM,
Dale Graff is into dreaming, so that is likely where you read about dream states. Paul does not teach that although he may have mentioned the early research into dream states in Reading the Enemies Mind since it is an extremely throrough treatment of the history of rv. If you've ever seen Joe view, he's not asleep nor in a sleep-like state. If RV requires putting the mind in theta (or as one of the links below says, in a barely conscious state), neither Joe nor any of the rest of the viewers trained in CRV are remote viewing.

As for the internet, countless sites that use the term remote viewing to mean pretty much anything (usually in reference to a product for sale as it turned out to be a somewhat authoritative sounding word once the military pgm info was released and people with a product seized on it as a catch all term for psi).

Glad to hear you've read Dale, Paul and Joe's books. That's more than some who make proclamations about what remote viewing is have done.
best,
Tamra

I am sorry. You are correct. You're "sense" (your remote view??) of
my response to your original post is quite accurrate - keep up the
good work.

I could stand by my original reply and continue to believe that my
intentions were authentically helpful - but - in light of your
pointing out to me the harsh language I chose to use - especially
regarding medications/side effects - there is no escaping the hurtful
nature of some aspects of my response - again - I am sorry. Thank you
for bringing my attention to this - I hope to benefit from the healing
available.

Ciao'
