NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Region V will hold a teleconference
meeting on 15 August 2008. The meeting times and dates are noted
above while the necessary information for teleconferencing is noted
below. The SSCCC Region V reserves the right to suspend the order of
the agenda at any time. Further notice is given that the SSCCC
reserves the right to record the meeting as it sees fit and use it for
business as needed/desired. Any questions or special needs should be

V. NEW BUSINESS
5.00 Region V Officer Elections
Discussion and subsequent elections of potential officers for Region
V for the current term of the Student Senate for California
Community Colleges. Terms effective 1 July 2008 through 30 June
2009.
5.01 Inactive Status
Declaration of inactive Region V colleges for the past five meetings
in order that consistent quorum be possible for future meetings.
5.02 Fall General Assembly
Discussion on topics for workshops, breakout sessions, and attendance
of Region V colleges. Theme for conference “Democracy in Action:
Strengthening Bridges of Understanding.” October 24-26, 2008, San Jose
Doubletree.
5.03 SSCCC Webpage
Discussion on adding pertinent information of participating region
representatives including current events/activities.
5.04 Letter Writing Campaigns/Groups/Resources
Discussion and possible action on various legislation and letter
writing campaigns officially supported by SSCCC including AB 2261, AB
1409, SB 588, and any others deemed pertinent, including online
resources and areas to watch for Action Alerts (this will include a
review of our Google Group and related on-line resources, including
but not limited to www.flatworldknowledge.com, www.IcanAffordCollege.com,
Facebook groups, et al for streamlined communication in the region
that can be accessed without a formal meeting).

OLD BUSINESS
6.00 Meeting Schedule
Discussion of SSCCC meeting dates and times and invitation for all
Region V members to attend any and all meetings to be held in
Sacramento. Discussion of Region V meeting dates and times, with
consistent passcode provided.
