Hey Reid, I had a quick question about the positions that were/are available for Region V. I believe the spots that are open are something among the lines of a VP and a Secretary. I know you spoke already regarding their duties but can you repeat it again? If the spots are open can we still nominate individuals for the position?

My sincerest apologies for not responding to this sooner - I am so
used to being the only one who does anything on this google group that
often I forget to look for replies! Great question! Let me see if I
can explain a little further:
All three Region V Officer positions are open at this time. The
Chair and Vice Chair have many of the same responsibilities: the idea
is that they would work together with the two State Senators to
contact the regional schools, draft up the agenda, disseminate
information to the region and bring information from the region back
to the State Senators - everything is about efficient and effective
communication so that we are all on the same page and all working for
the common goal of accessable and affordable higher education. The
Secretary will of course take the minutes for the meetings and assist
with the entire process. Hopefully the Secretary will take over some
of the dissemination of information as well, especially the minutes
and the contact sheet. Other than that, the duties of the Officers
will need to be outlined and clarified with our constitution and
bylaws -but, we need to draft them first! There has also been a
recommendation from Senator Sisk for a Communications officer and the
agenda for this afternoon is open enough that if the region members
would like to create and fill other officer positions we can do
so...
