Hi,

I hope someone can help me.

We have been happily using RedDot 7.5 with a customised version of
FCKEditor (copied to a different folder and renamed to fckeditor_main
as per usual procedure) but upon upgrading to version 9 of the CMS,
things have gone slightly pear-shaped.

Administer Project Settings > General Settings no longer has an option
to paste in the path to FCKEditor ("fckeditor_main/editor.asp"),
instead FCKEditor is included in a drop-down list. Despite FCKEditor
being selected as the editor of choice, the text editor keeps
defaulting to Telerik Radeditor whenever I try to edit a text
placeholder.

I did try to rename the FCKEditor folder to something completely
different, and point to it using the 'Other' option, and while this
brought FCKEditor back as the default editor, it no longer saves/
displays anything I enter, instead displaying a string of numbers and
letter which look vaguely like a GUID.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve
it? Here's hoping there's someone out there who can help.

Thanks.

John

Just to let everyone know I have solved this issue now, and thought I
should share it with the group in case anyone else encounters the same
problem.

I swapped the editor type to 'Other' and renamed my FCKEditor install
directory so that it didn't include the word 'fckeditor' - if the word
'fckeditor' is present, RedDot assumes you want to use the default
version.

The following data was input into the two input boxes presented:

URL of external editor:
The path to the editor e.g. 'cms_editor/editor.asp'

Name of the element that contains the text that should be stored:
The variable which stores the rich text before writing it into the CMS
DB. In the case of FCKEditor it is "FCKEditor"
