Dear list,

I have not announced these events on this list, only on the lists of French professionals and on the list of the French-speaking association of digital humanities (Humanistica, l'Association francophone des humanités numériques).

But, here is the information: I am organizing, on behalf of the ICA/EGAD group and as part of the new series of meetings and webinars of the Lab of the Archives nationales de France, a series of webinars presenting RiC-CM and RiC-O 1.0.

As the first three parts of RiC 1.0 are currently only available in English, the first two webinars aim to help French professionals (archivists, records managers, engineers, researchers, etc.) or even more widely French-speaking professionales (even if the examples and presentation will be more adapted to French users), to understand this new standard in order to be able to more easily appropriate and implement it. They are also be an opportunity to provide information on the work in progress within the EGAD group and in particular on the development of the implementation manual (RiC-Application Guidelines). A time for discussion is of course also planned.

To participate in the webinars, no prior registration is necessary.

The first webinar took place on June 11 and there were about 230 persons attending. You can now find the PDF presentation here:

The second webinar will take place on Thursday June 20, from 3 to 5 pm CET. It will complete the first one with a more detailed presentation by example.

The meeting will take place on Teams which is used by the French Ministry of Culture. To avoid any blocking, it is best to download and install the Teams software or open the link below using Chrome.

Hello everyone!
I am an archivist at Bibliothèque et Archives nationaux du Québec (BAnQ) and I am responsible for a mandate to update a repository of metadata necessary to meet the needs of digital information management within the Quebec government. I would be interested in attending other events in French which would provide explanations and/or examples of concrete uses of the RIC-CM within repository type tools. Can you tell me how to ensure that I am informed of this type of event?
Thanks!

Hi Sophie,

As concerns the second webinar in French that took place on June 20, I will publish the slides and accompanying material as soon as possible. And, probably a bit later, the two video recordings.
The third webinar will take place on September 10 pm CET, and will focus on the various projects which are going on in Switzerland. More information soon.

This list is a good place to get information on such events!

Also, in order to know what is going on in the French speaking community, you could subscribe to the French speaking discussion list about digital humanities, which is the list of Humanistica, "l'association francophone des humanités numériques". You will find information about this list there: https://groupes.renater.fr/sympa/info/dh

As concerns what is going on in France, you may also know the discussion list of the Association des archivistes français (https://www.archivistes.org/Liste-de-discussion).

I must say I do not know exactly how EGAD could directly announce such French speaking events to the Canadian French speaking colleagues, in particular to the persons in Québec. So I did not do so. Do you think we could contact the Association des archivistes québécois for example? Is there a list?

Dear list,

After the two webinars in French held on June 11 and 20, which were dedicated to an introduction to the Records in Contexts standard itself, the 3rd webinar will focus on "the RiC scene in Switzerland". It will be an opportunity to discover, through several presentations, several projects of varied nature that are currently being carried out there, whether they are implementations or software.

This 3rd webinar will take place on Tuesday, September 10 from 3 p.m. CET.
The Teams connection link and the program will be released at the end of August or beginning of September.

Hoping to see many of you there.

Best regards,

Florence Clavaud

Hi Florence,

Thank you for this very useful information. Regarding your question about how to make the work known to archivists in Quebec, you could actually contact the Association of Archivists of Quebec to find out their interest. Here are the contact details: Catherine Vaillancourt catherine.v...@archivistes.qc.ca

THANKS!
