The ICA Expert Group on Archival Description (ICA/EGAD) is excited to invite you to our upcoming online sessions in March, offering an introduction to the new description standard, Records in Contexts (RiC). This webinar series aims to provide a foundational understanding of RiC and offer a platform for participants to engage directly with the experts behind its development.

ICA/EGAD is organizing four sessions in four different languages (English, French, German, and Spanish). Each session will last two hours, during which experts will cover the following topics:

  • The history and evolution of Records in Contexts
  • Key entities in RiC, including RecordRecord Set, and Instantiation
  • The significance of Context Entities (e.g., Place, Agent)
  • Understanding Attributes and Relationships: their purpose and application
  • Practical application of RiC: the Conceptual Model and Ontology

The final 30 minutes of each session will be dedicated to answering your questions, giving you a chance to clarify doubts and expand your understanding of RiC.

Who Should Attend?

These sessions are designed for anyone interested in RiC, from practitioners and managers to board members and students. No prior knowledge of RiC is required, so feel free to join regardless of your experience level.
