Srini, Madhu, Carrie and Tonya,

I wanted to make sure you all were aware of this meeting tonight (I’ve been getting quite a few emails about it).  Apparently other neighborhoods may be going.

I plan to go tonight because they will be discussing their thoughts behind the redistricting which I want to hear.  You all obviously have very active communities so I wanted to make sure you had this too.  If you or any of your neighborhood, students, etc want to go tonight (to listen and learn….no speaking yet), if would be a great show of support.  No worries if not, just feel free to share.

Please wear South BLUE if you go to show our solidarity for remaining at SFHS.

Thanks

All Friends in Creekstone Estates/Stoney Point Corridor and all others with vested interest in KEEPING US IN THE SOUTH FORSYTH SCHOOL DISTRICT!!

I know that many of your kids go to private schools, are home schooled, or you may have kids that are several years away from being in HS and may feel that this is not your fight, but it definitely is!! If nothing else, do this to protect your property valus!  Also, please strongly consider your friends/families in the affected neighborhoods that ARE in Forsyth Public Schools and that strongly desire to stay at SFHS, and what redistricting would mean for their kids - on many different levels.  One logistics reality: SFHS is just 1.5 miles from Creekstone's Stoney Point Entrance and Denmark HS is 7.4 miles from our Stoney Point Entrance and one must go on congested and smaller back roads to get there!!!  This is an EXTREMELY inefficient use of time, poses additional safety risks, adds more traffic, not to mention substantial increased gas usage & environmental impact - Remember these factors are all compounded by school busses AND car drivers/riders!!)  Roads/commute for parents/people trying to get to work will also be lengthened/further backed up, over a much wider area. There are several other neighborhoods, on the other side of 400, which are MUCH closer to Denmark and have potentially far more public school students, which should be re-districted before we are even considered.

Immediately, please fill the Redistricting Survey out right away and often....as many times as possible.  The survey can be found at the URL below, and is very quick to do - DEADLINE FOR INPUT IS SEPT 27:   https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us//cms/module/selectsurvey/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=3290

In addition, please encourage/remind all of your neighbors and friends that may not be aware of the potential impacts of Redistricting Creekstone and the Stoney Point Corridor Neighborhoods to Join the Stoney Point Coalition page on Facebook Facts and important information will be shared on this page that will aid in your ability to fill out the survey.

We need everyone to get the word out and fill out those surveys.  Facts and numbers are most important - NOT emotion - keep that in mind when presenting your case for staying at SFHS. We encourage you all to help your students fill out the surveys as well!!!!  Paper flyers/surveys  will also be distributed (likely today) in neighborhoods to help gather accurate household data (specifically with regard to how many students attend private and public schools and whether or not there are even any school aged children in homes affected by redistricting). We want the school board/Forsyth County decision makers to have accurate data on which to base their re-districting decisions - not simply # of homes  X a standard formula to come up with attendance for each neighborhood!!   Please fill these out as well, and get them in quickly - time is of the essence.

Please pass this email on to all interested parties !  Get those online surveys in - DEADLINE is Sept 27 (but you can do one every day if you'd like, until then!) and join the Stoney Point Coalition FB page, today, to stay informed (encourage friends to do the same)!!

Thank you for your help - your voice matters!!!
