Hey guys,

To date, only two people have signed up.  Please sign up so I can finalize the draft time.  If you do not plan to participate, please let me know ASAP.

Have we reached a verdict on waivers?

My participation hinges on this ruling.

I think you should do whats right, and return the waiver rule to its original, pre-2015 interpretation.

We have to pay now before we can join the league?

I have seen in another league where you get $100 fake money for waivers for the year and can put a bid on any player on the waiver wire.  Thoughts?

Yes, you have to pay when you join the league.

Not opposed to the idea Ian. I think we should try it. It at the very least gives the incentive for each person to pay attention to the waivers each week versus have a shit waiver position and not caring for a couple weeks.  Waivers would end Tuesday and then it's free agency till Sunday correct?  The wild west of pre-2015 was out of control (mostly my fault). I was picking up the back ups of injured players during the games.

I think we can have the settings set to prohibit add/drops on the sundays only...

I prefer the wild west, makes it more fun and tactical

Can't have that either Big J. People add players and tinker their teams till kickoff!

What is wrong with that?

You can't ban people from picking up players before kick off on Sundays. If you can ban in game pick ups that works. But the morning time on Sunday is sometimes the most active time of the week!

right, so at kickoff on sundays the teams are locked. starting in the morning on monday they are unlocked and you can add/drop freely. seems pretty reasonable to me.

I dont like all of this bureaucratic red tape.  If I want to pick up a Joe Lefeged in the middle of the third quarter so be it.

You didn't mention that initially J but I agree that would work out the best. I'm all for the wild west again.

Just leave FA's unlocked.  When dropped, they go to waivers.  Circa 2014.

Yea so on Monday you can put your bids in, Wednesday am you know who got what, any unclaimed waivers are free agents until Sunday.

I'm out if it's wild wild west.  Jeremy as a one world sapphire member taking many Sunday flights and poor wifi at M&T, it is in your best interest to lock everything until Monday.

AH!!! Conflict of Interest!!!  Because you those of you blessed with spending Sundays at M&T, you want to level your playing field because the wifi at M&T is shoddy!  Buy a mifi....settled.

The waiver system makes plenty of sense. I feel like the major problem Todd is that you haven't taken the 15 minutes to read the rules and just understand how to work it. I rescind my vote for any change and opt we keep the system from last year.

Thank you, Casey.

"If nobody makes a claim on a player, they'll become a free agent and they'll be eligible to be added by the first team that wants them."

FA's are not locked after kickoff on Sunday.  What Ian, J and Tyler would like is to have players locked regardless if they are FA's from Sunday to Monday.  Correct?

I will note, the current rules were put in place for the 2015 season.  This league has been active since 2012 at which time FA's were never put back on waivers.

I have a firm distaste for Free Agent Oppression and would like to Make RamRod League Great Again.  The three of you fail to recognize Waiver Privilege.  I don't agree with leveling the playing field because some have a stronger FF work ethic than others.

But unlike others who have not gotten their way and left the league, just as Rosie and Lena vow to leave this great country if they don't get their way, I am an American and FF GM.  I shall leave neither this Country, nor this League, 2 of the many loves of my life.

But I encourage my fellow RamRod League GM's to stand up to Free Agency Oppression and recognize Waiver Privilege.  We must not accept the rules that benefit a select few, but rather embrace rules that reward strong work ethic and GM prowess and allow the other 99% of GM's to reach their potential.  Rather hinder GM's in competition, which made this league great, we must let their creative minds and work ethic take them to new heights.

I'll paint a picture of the future of Todd's proposal:

It's 3:45pm on a crisp Sunday in November.  You're sitting on your couch with a nice oversized blanket on, a Bud lite in your hand, some leftover room temperature pizza and wings (Ledos if you're in DC) sitting on the coffee table.  Your beloved Patriots, Ravens, Redskins or Packers are in a tight 4th quarter divisional game with playoff implications.  They're running a 2 minute drill and you just dipped a crispy wing in some ranch.  Your hands are dirty, your team is driving and you are glued to the game.

At that exact moment you get a ESPN notification that Adrian Peterson is carted off with what seems like a season ending injury.  You jump up, wash your hands, grab your laptop and draft his backup.  While doing that you hear your buddies yelling in the background.  What happened?  Your team just won the game all while you tried unsuccessfully to draft AP's backup, who is already picked up by Casey.  Insult to injury is that AP comes back in the game and has no real injury and passed the concussion protocol.

If you want to miss the precious moments with your team, the beautiful relationship between a couch and a tv and have a sticky keyboard from buffalo sauce, then go ahead and vote for Todd's wild wild west.  If you would prefer to enjoy a day of football with the boys and worry about waivers during the weekday grind, then we should keep last years rules.  Make Sunday's Great Again, Todd!  Don't be like Little Marco!

I must admit, Ian's picture is a rather accurate scenario of a potential Sunday.  We've all been there.

There is only one colossal problem.  The character in this story has failed to appropriately hedge AP.

Next time go with something like this.  Can't afford to have a GM on IR.
