I'll paint a picture of the future of Todd's proposal:
It's 3:45pm on a crisp Sunday in November. You're sitting on your couch with a nice oversized blanket on, a Bud lite in your hand, some leftover room temperature pizza and wings (Ledos if you're in DC) sitting on the coffee table. Your beloved Patriots, Ravens, Redskins or Packers are in a tight 4th quarter divisional game with playoff implications. They're running a 2 minute drill and you just dipped a crispy wing in some ranch. Your hands are dirty, your team is driving and you are glued to the game.
At that exact moment you get a ESPN notification that Adrian Peterson is carted off with what seems like a season ending injury. You jump up, wash your hands, grab your laptop and draft his backup. While doing that you hear your buddies yelling in the background. What happened? Your team just won the game all while you tried unsuccessfully to draft AP's backup, who is already picked up by Casey. Insult to injury is that AP comes back in the game and has no real injury and passed the concussion protocol.
If you want to miss the precious moments with your team, the beautiful relationship between a couch and a tv and have a sticky keyboard from buffalo sauce, then go ahead and vote for Todd's wild wild west. If you would prefer to enjoy a day of football with the boys and worry about waivers during the weekday grind, then we should keep last years rules. Make Sunday's Great Again, Todd! Don't be like Little Marco!
