Hi all,
In an effort to help solve some of the issues recently discussed I've added links from our website, Build_RTIs, to recent posts on the CHI Forums and to the CHI software downloads page.

The idea is the website will be a common point from which you can view current RTI_help and CHI resources (and other resources if you want to add them).

Thoughts?

Works for me, Dennis!

Just a couple of minor points:
  • I noticed the "Underwater RTIs" topic doesn't appear with a separate link on the "Build_RTIs" portal page although it has recently been commented upon.   Are these recent links somehow automatically generated or do you need to monitor and post them?  I don't want to create more work for you.
  • It isn't so easy to find the "Build_RTIs" home page with its useful links to other resources (bibliography, glossary, shared docs, etc.), since it doesn't show up in "My groups" from the Google Groups menu bar at the left, here.  I've bookmarked the page, but otherwise I've found it only through links provided in the discussions posted here at RTI_Help (which I assume is intentional).  The instruction in the initial posting to click on "Documents" is out-of-date, since Google replaced "Documents" with "Drive."  Making the "Build_RTIs" portal more easily accessible would be helpful.  Can a post be "pinned" to the top of the discussion list to make it easier to find it?
I think you've made a good step forward and I appreciate your efforts!

Best,
Taylor

Thanks for the suggestions Taylor,

The new CHI links on Build_RTIs are done manually. Even so it's not time consuming. I added the Underwater topic. For me manual isn't bad; It forces me to keep abreast of new developments in the method.

Re: how to locate Build_RTIs
To allow member editing and development Build_RTIs is a private site so it is not directly searchable (at least on Google). Members should bookmark it to conveniently find it. Last time I looked on Google Sites one can't have a public splash page with private links and sub-pages. That would make the site 'findable' on a search engine. But Google is always changing its products so I'll take a look again.

There is no 'pinning' function on the web-based presentation of the discussion forum but we do have the link to Build_RTIs at the top and in the footer of every posted message.

Please keep your thoughts coming,

Dennis
