Guineas test for Carbine winner

PROMISING colt Testafiable is finally living up to trainer Peter Moody's
lofty aspirations.

Moody has sent Testafiable into battle in four Group 1 races in his brief
career without success.

But the Testa Rossa colt's brilliant Group 2 Carbine Club Stakes win on
Derby Day signalled the best is yet to come.

Last year's Sandown Guineas placegetters provided two future Group 1 winners
in Barely A Moment and Al Maher, and Testafiable, a $2.60 favourite with TAB
Sportsbet for today's race, could continue the trend.

Trainer trainer David Hayes will today tell stewards at Sandown he will
instruct jockey Dwayne Dunn to ride Cayambe ($11) for a sit with cover
rather than leading.

"She's been ridden out of character the past two starts. I don't want her
dragged out of the race but I want her ridden for cover," he said.

Sydney gallopers Kincharm ($13 to $11) and Million Lad ($15 to $12) were
both well backed yesterday.

Fillies Hillfa and Cayambe will be out to add to the recent record of their
sex following the wins of Dexterous (2002) and Moon Dragon (2001).FORMER
Warrnambool trainer Robert Blacker will face 11 charges from the RSPCA
alleging mistreatment to five horses in his care while spelling in a paddock
at Wangoom, near Warrnambool, earlier this year.

The charges will be heard in Warrnambool Magistrates' Court on December 2.

Blacker handed in his licence during a Racing Victoria stewards inquiry into
the incident. He is now a registered stablehand at a pre-training property
of Michael Kent's near Cranbourne.

Chairman of stewards Des Gleeson said the inquiry into Blacker's actions
would resume after the court case.
