RNHA Members Across Illinois Work To Resolve Identified Violations of State Bylaws

Cook County, IL – In recent days, there has been much controversy and contention surrounding the activities of various members and officials of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA) in Illinois.  A perceived coup d’etat involving a faction of those members has been investigated and found to be false.

Accusations of a power struggle between the State and Cook Co chapter are simply inaccurate. “The members of the Cook Co RNHA understand that we are one organization, and we strive to work together with all other chapters as well as the State to reach a common goal,” said Veronica Vera, Cook Co RNHA spokesperson.

The statement released by Mr. Guevara of the Winnebago Co chapter was riddled with misleading and false information intended to undermine recognized procedure. The RNHA frowns upon this type of divisive and instigative behavior, and we hope to be able to work together under the agreed upon bylaws with dignity and integrity to remain a successful and effectual organization.

The Cook and DuPage County chapters are comprised of members in good standing that are dedicated to conservative values and the Republican Party and committed to working with the Hispanic community and all local GOP organizations to advance the Party.

While we respect Mr. Rivadeneira’s contribution to Party and the Hispanic community, we would be remiss to disregard the blatant neglect of established bylaws for our organization. The charges set forth against Mr. Rivadeneira were neither personal nor emotional, but rather they were an accurate interpretation of those bylaws. The characterization of the violations of the bylaws are being reviewed for accuracy, however it is not clear that misappropriation of funds is among them.  It is in the best interest of the RNHA and the Party that our rules be followed without prejudice or bias, and it is every member’s responsibility to hold their colleagues and elected officials accountable to a higher standard.

The actions taken have not been to fulfill a fictional vendetta against Mr. Rivadeneira. We find it disturbing and unfortunate that his personal offense to recognized rules and regulations has caused him to attack both the integrity and character of his colleagues and fellow Hispanic Republicans.

Personal grievances aside, the RNHA and it’s members believe in the Republican Party and are all working towards the common goal of reaching out to the Hispanic community. We would like to see Saturday’s convention clear up any divisiveness and infighting among the Illinois chapters and members and move forward in a unified fashion. The IL Executive Board unanimously appointed and recognized Mr. Ric Gruber as the DuPage Co Chairman.

National leadership have been informed of the situation in Illinois and are confident that our state chapters will strictly adhere to the rule of law as found in our State constitution and bylaws. Across the state, RNHA members have expressed a desire to stand together and uphold our constitution, bylaws, and any determination made based on them.
