HEY RISCC and Youth of Rhode Island!
On Thursday a few students from Brown, PC, and a
former RICC student got on a conference call to talk about getting RISCC
back off the ground. The time is now. Drastic climate change is going
to affect us all and we need to band together as students of Rhode
Island. WE can help to stop this. Whether it be lobbying at the
state house, educating high school students, getting bottled water off
our campus or standing in solidarity with those affected by mountain
top removal.
On Thursday we talked about our goals for the Rhode Island Student Climate Coalition: Lobbying at the state house, getting similar campaigns going across all the campus's, outreaching to high schools by doing presentations on climate change, and many more ideas. Join the next call so that we can try to
solidify our goals and start working on making them a reality.
We are having another call on WEDNESDAY at 9:15 and we want as many
interested people from as many schools (Colleges and High Schools!)
across Rhode Island. This coalition is for the students of Rhode
Island. So let's get together to strategize what we should do next!
Here is the conference call number - If you've never been on a conference call before they're really exciting!
Date: Wednesday November 4th, 2009
Time: 9:15 pm
Please respond to this email if you can make it and please pass this on to other students or youth who are interested!
Thanks!
