Hi all,

Please invite everyone you can to tomorrow's press conference (1 pm in front of the State House)

Let me know if your organization is able and interested in signing on as a formal supporter of this budget amendment to preserve the Renewable Energy Fund. I will forward the amendment and draft press release language to the group as it becomes available.

Also, tomorrow morning I will be sending out an e-petition specific to Rep. Segal's REF budget amendment and would appreciate your help in forwarding it out to your membership and colleagues.

We're tracking legislative support for each of these three initiatives: the amendment to preserve the $1 million in the renewable energy fund (keep posted for an e-petition coming out tomorrow morning), comprehensive net-metering legislation, and opposing the Deepwater bill. If you've had conversations with any state representatives or senators, please let me know their level of support.

Please, also, share with me any of your most effective talking points on these three pieces, or if you are interested in partnering in writing or signing onto an editorial or opinion piece.

Looking forward to speaking with many of you in the coming days!
Libby

Subject: Renewables at the state house

Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know that Libby Kimzey of Ocean State Action is going

to be able to help out for the next couple of weeks to get us fully
mobilized on the renewable energy doings at the state house: restoring $1M
to the renewable energy fund, passing net metering, and opposing the
Deepwater bill.

The first order of business is defending the renewable energy fund. Rep.
Segal has introduced an amendment to restore the $1 million. This will come
up in the House budget debate on Thursday (tomorrow!).

Libby has started tracking our conversations with legislators about whether
they will support the amendment. Please send her updates on your
conversations so she will be able to compile the latest info for her. She is

copied on this email.

Also keep an eye out for action alerts to forward to your contacts, media
releases, and possibly a media event at the state house.

Onward!
Sheila
