Here's a play.
This is the first draft, rough draft, raw draft, perfectly good draft, of a play that will be touring next year (late summer/early fall).
It's the first play by what we're calling "Rx", which is members of my previous theatre company, Performance Thanatology, in collaboration with Xander Marro.
Good dark fun!

Rx presents...
"The Fête of Mistakes; The 2012th annual Sublimated Sideshow of Everyday Brutality and Sweets”
This marks the very first piece by the newly formed performance team "Rx", featuring Ric Royer, Xander Marro, Richard Goulis and the sound of G Lucas Crane.
"The Fête of Mistakes; The 2012th annual Sublimated Sideshow of Everyday Brutality and Sweets”
This marks the very first piece by the newly formed performance team "Rx", featuring Ric Royer, Xander Marro, Richard Goulis and the sound of G Lucas Crane.
Two entertainers in the annual agricultural festival, The Fête of
Mistakes, decide they no longer want to exhibit themselves for a living,
so they go into the Zeppole business together, which they hope
ultimately leads them to Vegas.
THEN SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENS.

Q: I'm afraid. It's hard to just go to something if you don't know what it will be like, feel like, and ask of me. Please tell me, what kinds of things will this play be similar to that I am familiar with?
A: Perhaps the piece can be considered, Avant-Vaude. It mixes some contemporary theatrical elements learned in books such as Theatre of the Absurd, Brecht, Richard Foreman and 'Pataphysics, with what some call "low-brow" entertainment that one might find on tv, like Rowen and Martin's Laff-In, 70's gameshows, Marx Brothers and You Can't Do That on Television. Therefore, we provide a wide range of referential cultural anchors.
Q: This is so close to halloween, it must be a halloween show, right?
A: While not exactly "Halloween" themed, great short (1 hr) theatrical entertainment to go to before heading out to Spooky World or Field of Screams or a seance or grave robbery or something of that ilk.
