There will be NO TRASH OR RECYCLING PICKUP ON THANKSGIVING DAY (Thursday, 11/26).
There will be a makeup day FOR RECYCLING ONLY -- not trash-- on Saturday (11/28), and you should put your items out early on that day. American Disposal has a new flyer on what can and cannot be recycled. It will be mailed to all homeowners very soon. A copy is attached here and can also be downloaded on our web site.
There will be a trash pick up on Monday, November 23, and after that the next pickup for regular garbage will not be until Monday, November 30. Please plan accordingly.
A copy of the 2015 Winter Holidays Service Schedule from American Disposal is also attached here. It is being mailed to all homeowners and on is available on our web site.
ARE YOU READY?
Runnymeade is holding its 4th ANNUAL HOLIDAY HOMES DECORATING CONTEST. As you plan what to put up to celebrate the season, think about whether you would like your home to win a prize as
MOST FESTIVE
MOST UNIQUE
MOST CHARMING or
MOST ELEGANT
and whether you would like your street to win bragging rights to the "Brightest Street" award -- based on % of participation and not on number of homes, so any street can win. Castletown has won the bragging rights for the last 3 years. Help your street by decorating the outside of your house for the holidays.
A flyer for this contest is also attached here and is available on our web site and on our Facebook page. For pictures of previous winners and decorations, see our Runnymeade Facebook page.
Runnymeade's 2nd ANNUAL HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE was an outstanding success! Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Halloween Parade, especially Brian Kirby, who proposed the idea last year and who organized it last year and this year. It is a great event and a perfect annual Runnymeade tradition. Thanks also to Hugh Robertson, who produced a video of the event, and to Diana Ringquist, Lesley Sobeck, Carrie Arceneaux, and Pat Mahoney.

RUNNYMEADE ROOFS -- Most of Runnymeade's roofs were replaced more than 20 years ago and may need replacing now. Please remember and factor into your planning that replacement of your roof is a major exterior modification requiring that an Application for Exterior Modification be submitted to the ACC and approved by the ACC prior to any construction.
RUNNYMEADE DECKS -- The Runnymeade Board has clarified and harmonized positions on whether composite materials may be used on decks. At its September 22 meeting, the RHOA Board adopted a revised policy that can be found on the ACC Info page on this site.
ACC REMINDER: Are you planning to paint and/or to make any exterior modifications to your home? Please see the "ACC Info" page on this site. If you would like to reach all ACC members at once, using only one, easy-to-remember email address, send your email to rhoa...@googlegroups.com and it will go directly to all members of the ACC without you having to look up their names and email addresses. If you have any ACC questions or concerns, please contact the ACC directly, using the ACC email address, or contact Runnymeade's Property Manager, Jeff Turner, at je...@jeffreycharles.com.
RUNNYMEADE ON FACEBOOK: Our Runnymeade Facebook Group is growing. We are now up to 207 members! If you are a Facebook member but have not yet joined our closed group, you should consider doing so. It is an active group where timely and useful information is regularly exchanged. Search for the group on Facebook by name: Runnymeade Homeowners Association. Note: This is a closed group for Runnymeade homeowners and residents. If you would like to join, please make sure your request reflects your connection to Runnymeade. If it is not apparent from your request or your Facebook page/profile, your request may not be granted.
We now have a group photo on our Facebook Group page. It is a photo collage of scenes from Runnymeade events and activities over the last 6-7 years. If you have photos you would like to be included for future group photos and collages, please send them to Pat Mahoney at p-ail...@msn.com. Here is the first collage:
