All boats must be weighed (and have corrector weights installed) prior to the Jun 1-2 IC24 O.D. regatta in order to be accepted as an Entry for the regatta. In 2009, they were weighed, but records cannot be found and several boats have had major repairs, need corrector weights or have never been weighed. This will be a formal weighing for both private and club boats.
Tom Tatum has volunteered to head up the weighing project, will arrange to borrow/rent a scale. Robert Phillips has volunteered to be the official recorder and this time multiple copies of the scheduled weighing maintained. The two dates that Tom has available will be Saturday May 11 from 10:30 - 4pm or Sunday May 12 from 1-4. The more people who show up, the quicker the job will go. And club boats can take advantage of being by the powerwasher to clean off their decks as well.
Club boat skippers: please reserve your boat so that you will know which boat you will be responsible for getting weighed prior to the regatta. Even if you're not going to race in the regatta, please come out and help with the project. Bring your crew, beer, drinks and meet other IC24 sailors. Please post a reply on this site so will know when you're coming, or let Tom Tatum or Robert Phillips know when to expect you. If done early enough, there may be time for some sailing, too. If the majority of the group meets in the morning, an assembly line will make it go faster.
