Mr. Walko & Mrs. Williams: May is Mental Health Awareness month. In order to raise awareness for mental health needs, ribbons have been tied around trees on school grounds and will remain tied through the month of May. Faculty will also be wearing ribbons to show their support.
Mental Health Fact of the Week: Treatment works and recovery is possible, but more than one-half of adults and children go without the mental health care they need.
ATTENDANCE OFFICE:
Students attending the Senior Prom must be in attendance until the end of 3rd period on Prom Day.
A list indicating those attending the prom will be published and only those on the list will be given an early dismissal for the reason of attending the prom if so requested. You must bring in a note from your parent/guardian granting permission to leave school that day. Your note must include your name, ID #, grade, time of dismissal, and a telephone number where your parent/guardian can be reached.
Notes must be dropped off in the Attendance Office before Friday, May 30, 2014. No notes will be accepted after this date. No note means no pass to leave early on Prom Day.
Absolutely no telephone calls will be accepted requesting early dismissal.
Duplicate passes will not be issued.
Early dismissal passes will be handed out on Friday, June 13th in the Downstairs Main Lobby from 6:45 am to 7:15 am.
DEBATE CLUB: The Debate club meeting today is canceled.
INTERACT: Anyone interested in running for a club position must type a letter of intent and hand it in to Ms. Reardon by today.
The Interact Frisbee Tournament for today is canceled. Please stay tuned for news about a district - wide tournament coming up soon!
JAZZ ENSEMBLE: Jazz Ensemble auditions have been changed to Wednesday, June 4th. Please see Mr. Holod in room 119 to schedule your audition time.
STUDENT COUNCIL: Want to be a part of Ketcham’s history? Be a part of the Class Olympics on Friday, May 30th in the gym. See your class officers for information!
Masque and Mime: Any last minute people who plan to attend the end of the year banquet, must get completed banquet forms and money in to Arianna Smith. Anyone still interested in NYC trip, please let Mrs. E. know. It will be June 22.
SPORTS PHYSICALS :
The Health Office is now conducting physicals for fall sports. If you wish to play a fall sport, please stop by the nurse's office today to schedule your physical!
Fall sports begin on August 18th. Be sure to stop by the nurse's office to sign up for a physical - today!
GUIDANCE:
Attention Seniors
If you are in the top 10% of the class, plan on majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering or a Math field, (either Associate or Bachelor's degree) at a SUNY or CUNY college beginning in the Fall of 2014, you may be eligible for a full tuition scholarship. Information is available in the guidance office. Deadline to apply is August 15, 2014.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors:
The Chamber Foundation of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Youth Leadership Program. This is a 2 year leadership development program designed to develop academic, social and life skills of students through leadership experiences outside the classroom. Applications and information are available in the guidance office. Deadline to apply is June 13, 2014.
Attention Seniors
There are several new scholarships posted on the Guidance Web-site. Please take a minute to check them out on-line or in the guidance office.
YEARBOOK: There will be a meeting for anyone interested in being part of the 2015 Yearbook next Wednesday after school in the library.
The 2014 Yearbook is now sold out! To get on the wait list, please see Ms. Rossetti in the library. The cost is $100.00 cash only!
SENIOR CLASS: Today is the last day to buy Senior Prom Tickets in the cafeteria all lunch periods. If no lunch, Rifenburgh’s room 101 periods 1, 2, and 8th.
Reminder to Seniors: You must hand in your white guest forms and purple table forms by today.
STUDENT COUNCIL: Campaign posters are due in room 231 by 2:30pm today.

CONTINUING ED: The Driver Ed office is currently accepting registrations for the two Summer Driver Ed sessions. Please go to the Wappingers website and click on the link on the left for Driver Education to get more information, dates and registration forms.
