Club Guidance effective Now: pay your River City Golf Association (RCGA) entry fee in advance of our weekly play; pay by Saturday.
Hints of how you can comply or help others to comply:
- pay by Friday each week for upcoming Monday's event; or
- pay in advance...pay after the round at the course for next week's round; or
- advise everyone in your group to pay for next week's venue; or
- if you are one of the folks that do not have Cash App; give your cash to your buddy that has Cash App to pay for you in advance
- Which ever method you use, ensure you send it to $JimmyHolmesSr
What does this mean to you; what action(s) the club shall take? Here is the cut and paste info that was initially put in place in Sep 2020.
" All golfers are reminded to pay your River City Golf Association (RCGA) entry fee in advance of our weekly play. Officially, all golfers are required to pay the RCGA entry fee by noon Saturday each week. Cash App makes this very easy; this foster's in the following protocol of "no pay of mandatory entry fee; no play." If your name is on the player list; then pay now.

... golfers that have not paid their fee by noon Saturday prior to Monday's event will not be allowed to play RCGA venues. This means you must RSVP and pay in advance. In addition, your name will not appear on the player list or tee sheet if your entry fee has not been received as stated.

Cash App
- we highly recommend each golfer to pay their entry fee through Cash App;
- do it yourself; or
- have your buddy that has the app send your entry fee for you. Then, you reimburse your buddy.
Cash App Input... is similar to writing a check; it is done electronically instead. You, the user will input the dollar amount. Then, tap pay. Next, input the cashtag name of who you intend to pay. Currently, send the RCGA payment to $JimmyHolmesSr Jimmy's profile will appear; then, tap on that area. The For block is like the memo line on a check. Please input the golf course and the date we play that course; i.e. 14 Sep 2020 Riverside; 9/14/2020 Riverside; 9.14.20 Riverside; 9/14 Riverside; 9.14.2020 R.S.; R.S. 9/14, 11 Jan; and etc. The cliff notes.... include the course & date with your Cash App transactions to RCGA. If you are paying for another person; input the golfer's name that the funds are attributed to also in the "For" block.
Background: The need for this policy is not new. But, the need for it is just a great now as it was then. Yesterday's event at Brackenridge highlighted the need to implement policy to help the admin folks operate more effectively with incredibly efficiencies that won't distract that person overwhelmingly at the golf course. Currently, that person is Jimmy Holmes. Jimmy is our pre round pay recipient; meaning that he is who you pay to play. His Cash App cash tag-name is: $JimmyHolmesSr
It is disrespectful, for admin to have to physically chase down folks that have not paid. RCGA has a mandatory entry fee. Each golfer must pay before they play. It is the member's responsibility to ensure Jimmy has been paid. And the member's responsibility to ensure their guest have also paid in advance. There is no reason for golfers to not pay in advance. Jimmy refunds the entry fee to any golfer that did not play. So, one should not worry about waiting to see if they were going to play, or not play. If you paid and did not play.... you will be refunded.
Bottomline Folks... pay in advance!
