1. Micah is working on finding a solution to how/where the "Demand
Question Time" petition and open letter will live. We have, as a
fallback, the Facebook page set up by Mike, and could conceivably
launch this as something we ask people to join by becoming a "fan" of
that page. (However, not everyone is on Facebook and there may be
other technical reasons to not stake everything on that platform.)
We're looking for a solution that allows anyone to sign up, see who
else has signed, see a total number, share the page and ideally,
maybe, offer a "tell-a-friend" tool. Micah will report back later
today on options. (The goal is to be ready to go public tomorrow).
2. We discussed how to build the core supporter list and agreed on the
following approach. Everyone who is currently a supporter and
participating on this Google Group (some are not being put on the
group so as to not spam up their email inboxes, at their request), can
start circulating the text of the petition and open letter to people
who they trust (to keep quiet for now) and who they think will help
build the push by joining in now. At the moment, you do not need my or
anyone else's approval for who you ask--BUT PLEASE USE THIS THREAD TO
ANNOUNCE WHO YOU ARE REACHING OUT TO (and who you confirm). That way,
I/we can monitor our pre-launch growth for political balance and
diversity.
3. We agreed also to hold off, for now, on asking A-list political
figures or celebrities (Gore, Gingrich, Palin et al). We'll reassess
that stance tomorrow, but the general consensus was that if we go that
way later this week, we should aim for ongoing balance among the
whales we pull in.
So, start listing who you are going after...
My next moves will be to ask Craig Newmark of craigslist, Jimmy Wales
of Wikipedia, Jack Dorsey of Twitter, and try to get to Mark
Zuckerberg of Facebook.

It's a test...the petition is live but backdated so hopefully no one
can see it!
