6:00 PM. It is a working dinner meeting so please bring food to share,

Dear Gulf Coast TIDE Members:

Come out Pensacola! is scheduled for October 9th to the 16th and is
shaping up to be an action-filled week for our local community and
visitors. The week starts with an opening party at Jack and Ron's on
Sunday October 9th and ends with a worship service and Gospel Brunch on
Pensacola Beach on Sunday the 16th. In between we have a Same-Sex
Marriage debate at UWF, an activist workshop for students, an
inter-denominational worship service, Eric Himan's rockabilly concert, a
film festival featuring 4 films of LGBT interest, and parties at the Red
Carpet, the Roundup, and Emerald City. The highlight of the week is our
day-long Community Festival and Market at Bayview Park with two stages
of entertainment, food and beverage vendors, retail and information
booths from all of the local non-profit groups and children's activities.

I am writing to you as members of TIDE to let you know that all of this
can't happen without your help. The Come Out Pensacola planning and
preparation is currently being handled by a dedicated small group of
individuals who function as the steering committee. But we are in
desperate need of volunteers to join us.

You can volunteer for as little or as much time as you may have. We
need people to plan park logistics and work with suppliers, line up
vendors, sell program ads, and many other tasks. It is also a good way
to meet other people in the community and have fun while you are doing it!

The steering committee is having a working session on Tuesday, August
30th at 6:00 at GEARS which is located at 801 East Gregory Street
(across from the Roundup). Everyone is bringing a food item to share
while we work. Please come join us if you can. If you are able to
volunteer but can't make the meeting, just send me a note @
segil...@aol.com and indicate what you like to do, and we will match
you up with something that needs to be done.
