Role: Database Administrator Specialist
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: 12+ Months Contract

 

Description:
Create, administer, maintain and support PostgreSQL databases
Develop scripts to automate frequently used PostgreSQL activities
Support technical activities including high level programming and database development
Configure, perform and validate database backup and recovery procedures
Perform database migrations between environments
Have experience in technologies including JAVA, XML, UNIX, JBoss, SQL, HTML
Support different shifts as per the ops schedule (i.e. evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)

 

Required Skills:
PostgreSQL Administration P3 (Advanced)
Linux – P2 (Proficient)
Communications Management – P2 (Proficient)
RDBMS – P2 (Proficient)

 

Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
SQL, NoSQL (P2 – Proficient)
Microsoft Office (P2 – Proficient)
Oracle, Marklogic (P1 – Novice)
Developing XQueries – (P1 – Novice)
JSON (P1 – Novice)

 

All candidates should have:
Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
Eligibility to receive Federal Public Trust clearance
Established residency in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.
