Greetings,

Good morning to all! After reading several emails, I have had the chance to review some of the suggested topics for the conference and would like to list those I am interested in. I most interested in the following:

- Crowdsourcing
- Hyperlocal News
- The Hybrid Reporter (if someone can lead that discussion, I would love to attend)

As the topics continue to roll in, I will send my list in with the ones I would like to attend. In addition, what will the session break-out times be for the discussions listed above and what will the length be for each session? Thank you all for your time and interest.  I am looking forward to a successful and productive UN-Conference.

Sincerely,
Jaki Johnson

Great questions, Jaki!  I’d love to know more about the timing of sessions and how, exactly, this thing works.

Timing for session will be about 50 minutes each.  We’ll probably have 3 to 4 break-out sessions running simultaneously.  Right now we’re planning for 2 morning sessions, then lunch and 2 afternoon sessions.   So I guess the total # of session we can accommodate is about 12 to 15, depending on size and interest.

You can find a rough schedule right here.

Hi Susana,

My name is Tracy Misner and I am a media production teacher at Alpharetta High School.  I was under the impression I was registered for the Saturday session, but I did not see my name as an attendee.  Can you clarify for me?

Sincerely,

Tracy Misner

Sorry to be so late to the party, but I've been on vacation for the last
week and a half.

I've been thinking in a broad sense about a digital strategy. Does your
station have one? If so what is it? Does it go beyond "be everywhere"?

Drilling down, I think it would be extremely helpful for stations to
have a set of digital core values. What do our listeners expect from us
on-line? Seems like now, we're reacting to whatever is digital out
there. We can monitor what's working on our websites based on traffic,
but is there anyway we can be proactive instead of reactive?

Consider also that in smaller shops (like WBHM), in addition to being
reporters, we now also have to be photographers as well as build
webpages. CAN we do it, sure? Is it our strength? No. Does it meet
listener expectations? Has it been given the same editorial rigor as
our stories?
