2013 Buprenorphine and Office-Based Treatment of Opioid Dependence

Course Description: This online 8-hour training is based on the experience of live training with added online features! This course is designed to provide 8-hour training for physicians to complete the training requirement for CSAT certification to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opiate dependent patients as established by the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000. ​I had spoken to Dr Whitley last year re getting us certified and she was happy to run a (free) course for us, provided she received the necessary assistance. I had spoken to Rishi a number of times and had emailed him. I understand that our present Administrator-in-chief is infinitely more capable. (Some food for thought: Maybe we could do it during one of the didactic days if we creatively re-shuffle some courses?)

While looking into finding out about Suboxone Training, I discovered that it is offered freea as an online course for residents /fellows who are APA members.

It's a 8 hour course, that allows you to apply for the waiver afterwards.  This allows you to prescribe for Suboxone in an office setting. 

This course is easily 200$ in other places, so I think this is a nice perk of being an APA member that I had no idea about.
